Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian musician, singer and songwriter from Canada. Initial work can be classified as "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4that draws inspiration from hip-hop, electronic and rock. A lot of her songs have science fiction-related themes and feminist concepts. Five studio albums were made available by the group. Growing up in Vancouver (later shifting in Montreal), Grimes began performing her music in the late 2000s and released two albums, Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa, in 2010 on Arbutus Records. Following her joining 4AD and gaining popularity with Visions the 3rd studio album. Visions has two singles "Genesis" as well as "Oblivion" that earned it an award called the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. [5] Following this, her album on her 4th studio effort, Art Angels, was launched in 2015 and earned the acclaim of critics, with several publications having named it the best album of 2015.
