Her most well-known work is her part in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air's sitcom Ashley Banks. She began singing when she was 4. Her mother was encouraging her to bring her to audition for Sesame Street. As a young girl she began her acting career on Sesame Street's children's educational television show. She continued to appear in numerous productions in her hometown, New York, including the Broadway show Fences starring James Earl Jones and, later, Billy Dee Williams. She also appeared in the off-Broadway production Orfeo del Campo. When she was seven, she won Star Search. She received an overall score of 4 stars when she returned for another time.
